Youth Group Mission Program

The Youth Group Mission Program of First Presbyterian Church, East Aurora, seeks to give Senior High Youth (grades 9-12) the opportunity to serve God in mission on a local, state, regional, national, and global basis.  The purpose of these trips is to help our youth grow in faith,  share God’s love with people in need through the use of their talents and gifts, and discern God’s call on their lives.

The Four Year Plan:

During the course of the high school years a youth can expect to be engaged on a regular basis in local ministry through monthly engagement in mission in Buffalo and Western New York, and then on a  rotating basis each summer in four key mission experiences:

1. Local/State (e.g., Queens, NYC and Buffalo, NY)

2. Regional (generally Northeast, North and Mid-Atlantic, and Mid-West, normally within a day’s drive)

3. National (e.g., Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, SD, and New Orleans, LA)

4. International (e.g., Juarez, Mexico and El Paraiso, Honduras)

Normally the youth and their families will be expected to pay for half of the overall costs, with the remainder of costs being generated by fundraisers, donations, church contributions, and grants.  Depending on the expense of the trips, the actual breakdown may vary from year to year.

A small number of scholarships will be made available to those in need upon request.  Requests can be made confidentially to the Pastor or Youth Leaders.Donations may be made to the Scholarship Fund, which is invested in an interest-bearing account to serve the youth mission in perpetuity.
