Mission Tree

In September 2008, the mission committee of First Presbyterian Church put up a display of all the missions our church supports over the year. It is in the form of a tree and is meant to focus are mission giving in a very visual manner.

The roots of the tree are the people of the church, the trunk is the church, the branches our committee’s and organizations and each leaf a different mission. The banner is made from fabric and felt. The leaves are double sided and different colors, one side is green and the opposite side is pink. Each month those missions which are featured as our giving opportunity are turned to their pink side. The rest of the year they show their green side. Our tree was finished, with all its leaves in August of 2009.
